Eternal Peace is a meditation on the cruelty of the world, a lament for its injustices and a tribute to innocent children that have been forcefully taken away by the hands of war, chaos and starvation. Through this piece, I offer a visual consolation—an expression of eternal peace, a kind of peace unknown to any man that holds breath. The figures reflect their past lives: one shows the signs of starvation, while the other bears the mark of a fatal injury from a bombing. My hope is that viewers may find solace in the belief that, though their lives ended tragically, these children now exist in a place more beautiful, peaceful, and abundant than the life we know here on earth—a realm beyond human understanding.
