Inspired by philosophy and spirituality, this painting depicts transcendence and a moment of psychological liberation and peace...death to a version of self that does not submit to the metaphysical realm, an awakening that tears away from a state of mind that is subservient to society rather than to self. Here, two sisters are raised from a world of loss and mental captivity through societal domestication, into a whole new world of clarity, spiritual oneness and bliss. The sheer clothing symbolizes openness, and the textures and color variation of the clouds reveal their lived experience, both "good" and "bad". Hence, the presence of soft/heavy and bright/dark clouds.
